Hello,
I’m E.L. Marbury.
Basically, I’m just a guy going through life like many of you, navigating the twists and turns we face with each passing day. I’ve lived enough life to know that everybody’s story isn’t gonna be told the same way, even if they share the same experiences at the same time. Some people can sum up their story in a sentence or two. Mine doesn’t flow like that.
I’ve lived on two continents, and I’ve been blessed to travel and see things that made me grateful. Made me wiser. Made me look at life differently. I’m public school educated, and I’m not ashamed of that at all. It taught me how to deal with people, how to adapt, and how to keep moving when life didn’t make sense or come with instructions. Above all, I believe God blessed me with many gifts. I don’t take that lightly. I try to use what He gave me the right way, and to help others.
I’ve worn quite a few titles in my life, and I’ve taken every one of them seriously. I’ve been a husband, a father, a first responder, a soldier, and a PK (preacher’s kid). I’ve seen things I never thought I’d see, and I’ve had to make decisions I never thought I’d have to make. But through all of that, I’m proud of the life I’ve built. I raised three children who have never been to jail, and that alone is a blessing I don’t overlook. Now I’m a grandfather of six, and that’s a whole different kind of joy. It puts life in perspective. It makes one think about legacy, and what you’re leaving behind.
Music has always been a huge part of me too. I love it. I create it. And I’ve been blessed to be recognized for it. That still surprises me sometimes, because I never chased applause. I just wanted to make something that would make people feel good. Make them feel better than in the moments before hearing it. Something that had meaning. And when I’m not creating, I’m probably riding one of my motorcycles, letting the road clear my head and remind me that freedom still exists, and is worth pursuing.
This site is where all of that comes together. The stories, the lessons, the creativity, and the life behind it. I’m working on something I’ve carried for a long time, and I’m taking my time with it, because some things deserve to be done right. When it’s ready, whatever “it” is, you’ll be amongst the first to know.
